Tactical Pistol Workshop - July 7, 2018
DATE / TIME / LOCATION: Saturday, July 7th, 2018 from 8:00am to 5:00pm. All training will be conducted at CMI (Classroom and range).
COST: $179.00. Only 10-slots are available and they are sold on a first come, first served basis. No walk-ins. If you are also attending the Tactical Carbine Workshop on July 8th your cost for both classes is reduced to a total of $319.00 ($159.50 each). CMI paid members save an additional 25%.
RESTRICTIONS / PREREQUISITES: You MUST have a VALID CPL or be an LEO (active, reserve or retired)
DESCRIPTION: This class will focus on the skills necessary to carry a handgun for self-defense. Students will have a better understanding of gear and location of equipment. A strong emphasis of the fundamentals of marksman, working from concealment, 1 handed weapon manipulation, reloads, clearing stoppages, proper utilization of cover and much more.
EQUIPMENT: Quality Pistol, Holster, Magazine Pouch with a minimum of 3 magazines, 350 rounds of training ammunition, Eye and Ear Pro, Ball Cap and a Cover Garment. Holster must be make and model specific to the pistol you’re carrying.
INSTRUCTOR: CMI Senior Instructor Russ Lyons is a twenty year veteran police officer currently assigned to the Cleveland Police Department’s full-time S.W.A.T. unit which conducts in excess of 300 tactical operations annually. Russ was previously assigned to the Ordnance Unit where he served as a lead firearms trainer for ten years. As a member of the Weapons Committee he was responsible for the selection of weapons as well as equipment. Russ was also responsible for the basic training of over eight hundred recruits and the development of the yearly in-service firearms training curriculum for his fifteen hundred officer department. Russ has attended numerous firearms schools and holds certifications as an instructor in multiple disciplines.
