Tactical Carbine Workshop - July 8, 2018
DATE: Sunday, July 8th, 2018 from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
LOCATION: All training will be conducted at CMI (Classroom and range).
COST: $179.00. Only 10-slots are available and they are sold on a first come, first served basis. No walk-ins. If you are also attending the Tactical Pistol Workshop on July 7th your cost for both classes is reduced to a total of $319.00 ($159.50 each). CMI paid member save an additional 25%.
RESTRICTIONS:You MUST have a VALID CPL or be an LEO (active, reserve or retired).
DESCRIPTION: This class will focus on the skills necessary to safely operate and deploy an AR-15 for self-defense. Students will gain a better understanding of zeroing procedures, mechanical offset, gear and equipment. Emphasis will be placed on the fundamentals of marksmanship as they relate to the rifle, reloads, clearing stoppages, proper utilization of cover and much more.
EQUIPMENT: Quality Rifle, sling, minimum of 2 magazines, magazine pouch, 300 rounds of training ammunition (NO GREEN TIP, ARMOR PIERCING OR INCIDERARY AMMO), eye and ear protection, and a ball cap. A shooting mat or knee and elbow pads are recommended.
INSTRUCTOR: CMI Senior Instructor Russ Lyons is a twenty year veteran police officer currently assigned to the Cleveland Police Department’s full-time S.W.A.T. unit which conducts in excess of 300 tactical operations annually. Russ was previously assigned to the Ordnance Unit where he served as a lead firearms trainer for ten years. As a member of the Weapons Committee he was responsible for the selection of weapons as well as equipment. Russ was also responsible for the basic training of over eight hundred recruits and the development of the yearly in-service firearms training curriculum for his fifteen hundred officer department. Russ has attended numerous firearms schools and holds certifications as an instructor in multiple disciplines.
