Basic CPL January 14, 2018 11am - 9pm Sunday
This all-inclusive CPL certification course includes books, range time, lunch (usually a sub, pop & chips), targets, eye protection, hearing protection, and if needed, the use of a .22 caliber pistol and ammunition. There is an additional charge for ammunition other than .22 caliber. Students who bring their own handgun must also bring 100 rounds of ammunition.
This course provides training in the fundamentals of pistol shooting and safety, including classroom instruction and live fire exercises that meet the educational requirements to obtain a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) in Michigan.
This class is taught by CMI’s renowned staff of NRA certified instructors who are either a currently sworn (not a reserve) and licensed law enforcement officer, a retired law enforcement officer, or an attorney.
Topics include making you and your home safe, awareness levels, responding to a possible break-in, avoiding confrontations, confronting an attacker, legal issues, appropriate use of force, ammunition selection and handling the aftermath of a defensive shooting. In addition to the curriculum required by the NRA and the State of Michigan, instruction will be provided in selecting a handgun for concealed carry that includes an overview of the various carry methods.
Remember this in choosing a training provider: there are two levels of survival in a deadly force encounter. The first is to survive the encounter, the second is to survive everything that happens afterward. If you survive the first, and fail the second, your life can literally be ruined. Few, if any other training providers in the country possess CMI’s training experience and reputation. None cover the criminal investigation, civil process and emotional stress issues that can occur after a deadly force encounter, better than CMI.
No Prerequisite / 9 hours total: No refunds for cancellations made less than 3 days prior to course date and a $25.00 rescheduling fee will be charged with less than 3 days notice.
